Leadership

When it goes wrong,
who picks up the phone?

Most programmes do not fail on technology. They drift because nobody can say who owns the decision that is holding everything up. This page names the people who own ours, when you should expect to hear from them, and what happens when you need to escalate.

Meet the people

Every engagement names the accountable roles and the escalation route from the start.

Sound familiar?

An issue with no owner is not a status. It is a decision waiting to be made.

These are the things executives describe when they ring us about a programme rather than a product.

  • Nobody can tell you who decides

The question has been asked three times and each answer names a different person.

  • The status report says amber, again

Nothing in it tells you what has actually changed, or what you are being asked to approve.

  • The senior people vanished after the sale

The people who won the work are not the people you now speak to, and nobody explained the handover.

  • An issue keeps coming back

It gets discussed, it does not get owned, and the next meeting starts where the last one finished.

  • Nobody wants to say the uncomfortable thing

Everyone can see the date is at risk. The conversation happens in corridors rather than in the room.

  • The go-live decision arrives as a formality

You are asked to sign, without a clear view of what is ready and what risk you are accepting.

Who you would be working with

The people who own what we commit to.

Real names, current roles, and when you should expect each of them to be involved.
